Ans. Family Affair Key West provides full-service, hands-on planning with a personal touch. Unlike many planners, our team lives locally and has deep, long-term relationships with the best venues and vendors in Key West. Our staff takes pride in offering seamless planning, honest advice, and a luxury experience tailored to each couple’s unique vision whether it’s a barefoot beach ceremony or a black-tie celebration.

3. How far in advance should I book your services?
Ans. We advise 9 to 12 months’ advance booking for full-planning services, especially for peak seasons (December to April) but be sure to request we have a full team and can often accommodate last minute. For smaller elopements or weekday weddings, we can accommodate bookings with as little as 30-60 days’ notice, depending on availability.
4. Can you handle destination weddings?
Ans. Yes, we specialize in destination weddings and assist with travel logistics, accommodation blocks, and vendor sourcing
5. Is there a backup plan for inclement weather?
Ans. Yes, we recommend budgeting for weather tenting or indoor venues (which are very limited in Key West) and plan around Key West’s tropical showers and hurricane season (June–Nov)
6. How do you create a wedding timeline?
Ans. We build a detailed day-of timeline template, customized to your schedule, which we build for you immediately after signing your contract – so no matter your chosen package you have a full view of your day. If you are month/day of you will be able to scheduled your vendors with confidence.
7. How far in advance should we book?
Ans. It’s recommended to start planning 8–12 months ahead for best availability
8. What’s your cancellation/rescheduling policy?
Ans. We provide you detailed information on event insurance – which is hands down the best format for covering all deposits and payments throughout your planning process – often if a change is needed before you hit your 45 days out timeframe and you need to postpone – your planner will work with venue and vendors to coordinate date options to ensure you don’t lose deposits when possible. 9. Can we customize the All-Inclusive Package?
Ans. Yes, fully customizable all-inclusive packages. We build the celebration around your style and budget and provide you one contract and one deposit to streamline your event.
10. Do you help with travel and lodging for guests?
- Ans. Yes! We:
Currently we have 7 various types of resorts that offer our clients exclusively discounted “wedding” rates without having to create a formal room block and sign a contract. - Reserve room blocks at resort with deeper discounts (requires you sign contract)
- Coordinate guest transportation to and from the ceremony and or reception
- Recommend travel-friendly itineraries and activities in Key West
- This is especially helpful for destination weddings with large guest lists.
11. Do you offer elopement packages or small intimate weddings?
Ans. Yes, we specialize in elopements and micro-weddings. These packages typically include Ceremony site setup (beach, garden, private home, etc.), Officiant, Photographer, Florals and Champagne toast
Optional add-ons include hair/makeup, video, and dinner reservations or private chef experiences.
12. Do you help plan rehearsal dinners or post-wedding brunches?
Ans. Yes, we offer full weekend coordination including: Welcome parties, Rehearsal dinners (at restaurants, boats, or private villas), post-wedding brunches
Please note we do not staff these events just assist in confirming them.
13. How do you keep us involved if we live out of town?
Ans. We work closely via:
- Scheduled conference calls
- Shared documents for timeline/budget/design
- Regular email updates
- This ensures you’re always in the loop, even if you’re thousands of miles away.
14. Can you help us stay on budget?
Ans. Yes, we offer realistic budget planning from day one and help you prioritize where to splurge or save. We:
- Create a rough full budget of all expenses before you sign my contract to ensure we are on target.
- Track vendor deposits
- Offer cost-saving vendor bundles
- Identify off-peak discounts
- This allows us to deliver a dream experience without unnecessary overspending.
16. Can you recommend and book vendors for us?
Ans. Yes, we have vetted, long-standing relationships with Photographers, DJs and musicians, Officiants, Florists, Hair and makeup teams, Caterers and bartenders
We negotiate contracts, confirm schedules, and act as the primary point of contact.
